Prescription Drugs

Your Health Plan will cover your eligible prescription drug costs up to 80%, after a $5 dispensing fee, to a maximum of $10,000 per policy year.

The Plan covers most medications legally requiring a prescription. Eligible expenses for the dispensing fee are limited to $5 for each prescription. Charges in excess of the lowest priced equivalent generic product are not covered unless your doctor indicates on the prescription “no substitution”.

The SU Health Plan only covers those medications listed in the Alberta Formulary, including most oral contraceptives, anti-smoking aids, insulin and diabetic supplies.

Contact studentcare.net/works for any additional information concerning prescription drugs. To find out if a specific drug is covered, you will need to provide us with the name of the drug and the DIN number.
