Massage Therapists

The Plan covers the cost of a massage therapist for a maximum of $20 per visit and up to $400 per policy year. Please note that you need a referral by a medical doctor to be covered for visits to a massage therapist.

Massage Therapy Network
BC Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) have the highest level of training in North America. Your RMT provides assessment, treatment, and prevention of soft tissue and joint disorders using a variety of manual techniques, hydrotherapy, and therapeutic exercises for rehabilitation, pain relief and the promotion of health.

In addition to the massage therapy benefits included in your student Health Plan, studentcare.net/works is working with massage therapists to provide Plan members with additional savings.

When visiting a Network massage therapist, Health Plan members can take advantage of the following rates: $30 (plus HST) for a 30-minute treatment and $55 (plus HST) for a 60-minute treatment.

This means that if you combine your massage therapy benefits with the Studentcare Massage Therapy Network savings, you will pay approximately $14 for a 30-minute treatment and $42 for a 60-minute treatment, after reimbursement from the insurance company (until the yearly maximum is reached).
