How to Claim

In this section, you will find information on submitting claims.

You can use your Plan benefits anywhere in the world. Reimbursements are in Canadian funds and calculated at the exchange rate of the day the claim is processed. Reimbursement is limited to what the service would have cost if done in Canada. When applicable, claims will be coordinated with your provincial health-care coverage. Please make sure you submit detailed receipts for services performed while outside of the country.

Note: Reimbursement is based on reasonable and customary fees.

Deadline for Claims Submissions
All health and dental claims must be received by Sun Life no later than 90 days after the end of the policy year in which the claims were incurred or 90 days after the end of your coverage, whichever is sooner. Full-year coverage ends Aug. 31, 2010.

If you use any of your travel benefits, you must call CanAssistance immediately to find out how and when to submit your claims. Download the Travel Health Passport and detailed explanation of coverage for more information.
